Calm Before the Storm

I walked my beach tonight: Clear and starry sky, cool breeze, crickets chirping, gentle waves lapping the shoreline, a distant lighthouse light pulsing through a hazy horizon... Tomorrow the first of the high clouds will appear, and then, on the next day, my beach will be pounded, beaten, and torn to shreds by the lashing winds and waves of the hurricane. Hold tight, beach. Hold tight!

(I forgot about this post!) The beach held!.. Thanks to the power of the high pressure system over Massachusetts, Hurricane Earl lingered, but stayed just enough out to sea to bring us nothing but good fortune. Good waves, big media influx, great photo ops, and little beach damage. It seems our current NorEaster is passing out to sea as well... good enough.
